Qlu Ltd.’s founder and president Mr. Mikko Haho has been hearing-impaired since his childhood, but he has never given up. On the contrary, he has successfully strived to live equal life compared to normal-hearing persons. He has always looked for new solutions and developed technology, which help hard hearing people in their daily life. This dedication and ambition has guided him through his over 20 years long career in developing solutions and services both in induction loop installation businesses and in Nokia Mobile Phones. Mikko knows by his own experience what it means to be a person with hearing disability.
The CEO of Qlu, Mr. Juha Nikula, is an entrepreneur and inventor who is a master of combining and restructuring different technologies to build something new and unique.

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities defines the principles of equality also for hard hearing people, but our society does not necessarily fulfil all the Articles of the Convention. Every public building with PA-system, should also have a Hearing assistive technology system (HATS) installed. Does it? If it does, is it working according the specifications? It is hard to evaluate if the assistive technology is working as it should. This is where Qlu brings in new world class solutions.
Qlu’s solutions help hearing aid users to find services and venues where they can take the full advantage of their devices. With our quality measurement and mapping system we map out the signal quality of hearing loops to visualize the hearing conditions for hearing aid users. The results of the measurements are printed out as posters for the venue and published in our on-line database open for public in the Internet.
This new service will not only help hearing aid users and their friends to find venues (concert halls, movie theatres, theatres, meeting venues, churches, service counters etc.) with good hearing environment, but it helps also the society and enterprises to develop better services and bring their venues to the accessibility and reachability standards nationally and internationally agreed.
